Welcome to the Lion Hotel at Llanbister, situated in the beautiful countryside of Radnorshire, Mid Wales, which boasts some of the best and unspoilt scenery in Britain. Llanbister is located just off the A483 between Newtown to the north and the Victorian spa towns of Llandrindod Wells and Builth Wells to the south. A short trip to the east you will find the historic towns of Knighton and Presteigne, and to the West Rhayader, The Elan Valley and the beautiful coast of Cardigan bay

We are a family run business and offer you a warm welcome to our Hotel, with selection of beers and beverages, large menu of home cooked food, and quality bed and breakfast accommodation at the Hotel, and we also have two self catering log cabins on the outskirts of the village.

Llanbister is nestled within the Cambrian mountains and over looks the River Ithon meandering through the valley below the hotel. This is a great location for touring, walking, with Offa’s Dyke and Glyndwr's Way close by.

Cycling in the form of Mountain biking is a very popular activity in the area, with many forestry roads, and dedicated single-tracks within easy reach.

Horse riding centres provide trekking through the hills, there are many bridleways in the area, and we can even accommodate your horse at a nearby stable through prior arrangement, which is also home to our own Trotting horses.

Fly fishing on the River Ithon, or course and fly fishing at two nearby by private pools is available which we would be more than happy to arrange for you during your visit.


	We also offer a package day, which involves 4x4 off road driving at the nearby Tuff Terrains, and Clay pigeon shooting at The Griffin Lloyd Shooting experience. ;Ray, who is an Ex international champion in shooting, may also offer additional tuition. If this was not enough, we also offer a short local historical tour during your stay, with Ray who has a passion and in-depth knowledge of history in the area.
